Dads well what is the perfect dad ? Is there such a thing as a perfect dad? Well he was my dad not perfect but one who i loved and for a long time was really close to. He was a very proud man who would always be seen dressed smartly. He loved gardening and d.i.y.
From an early age i remember him playing cricket in the school field and him going for walks with us in the woods. As time went on he kept to his ways and i grew up still very close to him. He was the first member in the family to see and hold my daughter. He gave her a pretty pink dress for her first eid. Cancer got the better of him . I did go to the hospital when he had his first op. After that i moved away due to circumstances. He was given the all clear. Little did we know that that wasnt the case. It eventually got the better of him . I went to London for a couple of weeks to take care of him and that was the last time i ever saw him. As i said goodbye i knew it would be the last time we met. We spoke daily until he could barely make a sound then on 17 August 2000 my sister in law rang me to say he had taken his last breath. I didnt go to the funeral or to see him that was my way of coping. Your pyjamas still have your scent and you seem to be in the room every time i take them out.I miss him a lot and think about him and i hope he is with his mum and dad as he often had wished they had lived longer. Love you dad.
